The name of the Business Park"Alte Flachse" GbR results from the former use of the area.Up to 1960 flax (in German: "Flachs") was processed and finished.
In vernacular the area was called "Flachse", and this nick-name is up to date.
In 1670 Hans Vogel founded a bleach (??). The company was operated and expanded until 1713.
In 1713 the company was sold to Andreas Reichel. He and his family left their mark on the company during numerous generations. The new name was "F. B. Reichel Nachfolger". Around 1920 Bruno May initiated enormous construction work in order to expand the company. Numerous fires destroyed large parts of the factory.
The processing and finishing of flax and other raw materials were the main businesses of the company up to 1960. The name of the company changed to "Türk, Liebers & Co. GmbH" and later to "Türk & Co. GmbH". After 1960 the premises came in the hands of the company "VEB Zentrales- Rohstoff- und Ersatzteillager".
The entire company was under state administration from 1952 - 1991. In 1991 the company was transfered back to "Türk & Co. GmbH".
In 1994 descendants of former owners of the original company " Türk & Co. GmbH" founded a new company for renting of ground and premises -with the today's name Business Park"Alte Flachse" GbR
